New to Homeschooling?
On Saturday August 9, 2008 we will be hosting Home Schooling 101. This day is designed for new homeschoolers and veteran homeschoolers with questions. Please call and make your reservations by July 28, 2008. We will be having guest speakers on getting started in home schooling, home schooling with your Jr./Sr. highschooler, and Tops and FASA: how to get into college financially with Michelle Darling from Baton Rouge.

We will also have counselors you can meet with privately to have your questions answered. This is a 1 hour session for $25.00 Reservations and payment must be made in advance. This is a great opportunity for new homeschoolers to have one-on-one time. You will also be able to sign up for our Fall classes and meet some of our tutors at this time.

Welcome to the Home School Cottage!

About Our Hours
The Home School Cottage is officially open from 12-5pm, Tuesday through Thursday, as this is the time that we are fully staffed and able to give you all of the attention that you deserve. But, for those of you who can only visit the Cottage in the morning, our doors will now open at 10am. Please note, however, that our staffing is limited between 10am and 12pm on Tue-Thu (Sept-May), so if you know you will need some time to talk to us about curriculum, tutoring, or consignments, please try to visit during our "core" hours of 12-6pm.

Best Times to Come by the Cottage for...
...Picking Out Curriculum
- Tue/Thu afternoons with Denise
- Wed afternoons with Alyson

....Dropping Off Books
- Fridays are the best!

....New Homeschooler One-on-One
- Call (985)643-0104 to reserve a time!

Check our Calendar for details on days that the store is open and special hours. With the holidays coming up, our schedule will be a little different for awhile!

One More Thing... Don't forget the second Saturday of every month we are open from 10am to 2pm! We will also be open every Saturday in June, July and August.

More About Our Move
Can you believe it's been almost a year since we moved?! We are adding every month to our inventory to carry more new, current and old editions (if you are bringing an old edition in to sell, it MUST have everything). If your old editions/reference/etc. were with us for more than a year and you had previously indicated to us that they could be donated, we have given them to a new private Christian School that had requested donations.

You will see lots of changes at the new store. Every month we are trying to add something new to our books or our toy store. If you have any suggestions or have found something awesome, let us know!

We are making every effort to get organized, find out what is new, offer counseling for new homeschooling parents, and constantly come up with new ideas. We want to thank all of you who have been so encouraging and patient. A bigger thank you than you can ever imagine to those of you who came to help us move! Love ya!

Alyson and Pamela

P.S. We promise we will do a better job keeping up with our web site!
